Description | The purpose of this request for proposal is to obtain new playground equipment, including existing structure demolition, new equipment design, surfacing borders, wood chip surfacing, handicap ramps, rubbers mats, and installation at multiple Pitt County Schools' locations - See SCOPE OF WORK for details Refer ALL Inquiries to: Tammy Hapgood Telephone No. (252) 756-2313 E-Mail: thapgood@pitt.k12.nc.us Deliveries, installation, and demolition may begin March 6th, 2023 or as soon as contracts are signed, whichever comes first, for the following schools: o W.H. Robinson Elementary o Elmhurst Elementary o Falkland Elementary o Eastern Elementary o Stokes School o Ridgewood Elementary o Wintergreen Intermediate Deliveries, installation, and demolition may begin June 12th, 2023 for the following schools: o Lakeforest Elementary o Wintergreen Primary o Creekside Elementary o H.B. Sugg School o G.R. Whitfield School o South Greenville Elementary o Belvoir Elementary o Pactolus School o Grifton School o Northwest Elementary o Bethel School o Chicod School o Sadie Saulter Educational Center COMPLETION DATE (September 01, 2023) - All equipment, wood chip surfacing, playground borders, and associated labor must be completely installed, inspected, accepted by Pitt County Schools and invoiced by September 01, 2023 SCOPE - Proposal must include the turnkey cost (design, the playground equipment requested as rendered on attached designs, shipping, playground borders, wood chip surfacing, ADA border ramps, rubber mats, and complete installation) (where applicable, demolition and removal of existing playground equipment, playground borders, and wood chip surfacing must be included). LAKEFOREST ELEMENTARY SPECIFICATIONS - 3300 Briarcliff Drive Greenville, NC 27834 1. Demolish and dispose of existing green/purple/blue composite structure, benches within the bordered area, and associated playground borders as noted on map below. The Toss N Score ball toss is to remain. 2. Install new composite structure and balance beam in the same general area as the removed composite structure as noted on the map below. 3. Install (1) bench. Locate as most appropriate for playground supervision. 4. Install new borders, ADA ramp, and wood chips as needed for the containment areas. Rubber mats are to be installed under all slide exits. WINTERGREEN PRIMARY SCHOOL SPECIFICATIONS 4710 County Home Road Greenville, NC 27858 1. Demolish and dispose of existing green/yellow/blue composite structure, benches under the canopy, and associated playground borders as noted on map below. The balance beam and nearby small canopy is to remain. 2. Install new composite structure in the same general area as the removed composite structure as noted on the map below. 3. Install (2) benches under the canopy. 4. Install new borders, ADA ramp, and wood chips as needed for the containment areas. Rubber mats are to be installed under all slide exits. CREEKSIDE ELEMENTARY SPECIFICATIONS 431 Forlines Road Winterville, NC 28590 AREA 1 1. Demolish and dispose of existing green/brown/tan composite structure and associated playground borders as noted on map below. The balance beam, swings, and nearby small canopy is to remain. 2. Install new composite structure in the same general area as the removed composite structure as noted on the map below. 3. Install (2) benches. Locate as most appropriate for playground supervision. 4. Install new borders, ADA ramp, and wood chips as needed for the containment areas. Rubber mats are to be installed under all slide exits and the existing swings. 5. Refill wood chips for the adjoining, existing swing area as shown on the map H.B. SUGG SCHOOL SPECIFICATIONS 3992 Grimmersburg Street Farmville, NC 27828 1. Demolish and dispose of existing green/tan composite structure, bench within the bordered area, and associated playground borders as noted on map below. The balance beam is to remain. 2. Install new composite structure in the same general area as the removed composite structure as noted on the map below. 3. Install (2) benches. Locate as most appropriate for playground supervision. 4. Install new borders, ADA ramp, and wood chips as needed for the containment area. Rubber mats are to be installed under all slide exits. 5. Demolish and dispose of dome climber as noted on map below. 6. Install medium spinner, associated wood chips, and borders as noted on map below. Tie into the existing 2-5 playground composite structure and swing containment area. A circular rubber mat is to be installed under the spinner. G.R. WHITFIELD SCHOOL SPECIFICATIONS 4839 School Road Grimesland, NC 27837 1. Demolish and dispose of existing green/red/yellow composite structure, bench within the bordered area, and associated playground borders as noted on map below. The balance beam, Toss N Score ball toss, and canopy are to remain. 2. Install new composite structure in the same general area as the removed composite structure as noted on the map below. Overhead canopy's dimensions are 24'X36' 3. Install (1) bench. Locate as most appropriate for playground supervision. 4. Install new borders, ADA ramp, and wood chips as needed for the containment areas. Rubber mats are to be installed under all slide exits. 5. Due to the playground's close proximity to the school's kitchen, emergency egress for cafeteria staff and access for food delivery must be maintained. SOUTH GREENVILLE ELEMENTARY SPECIFICATIONS 811 Howell Street Greenville, NC 27834 1. Demolish and dispose of existing green/yellow/blue composite structure, benches within the bordered area, associated playground borders, and old mulch as noted on map below. New composite structure will be located in a new location so level area to adjacent grade level and remove spoils from property. 2. Install new composite structure and balance beam in the area noted on the map below. 3. Install (2) benches. Locate as most appropriate for playground supervision. 4. Install new borders, ADA ramp, and wood chips as needed for the containment areas. Rubber mats are to be installed under all slide exits. 5. Demolish and dispose of existing swings as noted on map below. New swings will be located in a new location so level area to adjacent grade level and remove spoils from property. 6. Install new (2) swing bays (4 swing seats), new wood chips, and new borders as noted on map below. Rubber mats are to be installed under all new swings. Install (1) bench. Locate as most appropriate for playground supervision. 4. Install new borders, ADA ramp, and wood chips as needed for the containment areas. Rubber mats are to be installed under all slide exits. BETHEL SCHOOL SPECIFICATIONS 152 East Washington Road Bethel, NC 27812 AREA 1 1. Demolish and dispose of existing green/tan/blue composite structure, bench within the bordered area, and associated playground borders as noted on map below. The canopy is to remain. 2. Install new composite structure and balance beam in the same general area as the removed composite structure as noted on the map below. Overhead canopy's dimensions are 30'X40'. 3. Install (1) bench. Locate as most appropriate for playground supervision. 4. Install new borders, ADA ramp, and wood chips as needed for the containment areas. Rubber mats are to be installed under all slide exits. AREA 2 1. Install (1) merry-go-round, (2) tea cup spinners, (2) seesaws, associated wood chips, and borders as noted on map below. Tie into the existing swing containment area. 2. Install (1) bench. Locate as most appropriate for playground supervision. 3. Install new borders, ADA ramp, and wood chips for the new containment area. A circular rubber mat is to be installed under the merry-go-round. CHICOD SCHOOL SPECIFICATIONS 3833 Stokestown Saint John Road Greenville, NC 27858 1. Demolish and dispose of existing purple/red/yellow composite structure, adjoining drum panels, adjoining activity panels, and associated playground borders as noted on map below. The nearby Toss N Score ball toss is to remain. 2. Design composite structure to fill a space approximately 22'X45'. Structure is intended for use by 5 and 6 year old children only. Structure must have at least two slides. Install new composite structure in the same general area as the removed composite structure as noted on the map below. Due to surrounding oval concrete track, new composite structure (including use zones) must fit within an approximate 22'X45' space. 3. Install new borders, ADA ramp, and wood chips as needed for the containment areas. Rubber mats are to be installed under all slide exits. 4. Due to limited access, mulch will be best installed by a blower truck. SADIE SAULTER EDUCATIONAL CENTER SPECIFICATIONS 400 Spruce Street Greenville, NC 27834 AREA 1 1. Demolish and dispose of (5) ground level activity panels (reuse existing poles for replacement panels if possible), near Toss N Score ball toss, and associated playground borders as noted on map below. The composite structure, music center, and far Toss N Score ball toss are to remain. 2. Replace ground level activity panels with new ground level activity panels as shown. 3. Install new merry-go-round, cocoon style spinner, and wheelchair rocker/glider as noted on map on next page. 4. Install new borders, ADA ramp, and wood chips as needed for the containment area. All equipment in AREA 1 is to be located in one single containment area. Rubber mats are to be installed under all slide exits. A circular rubber mat is to be installed under the merry-go-round. 5. Install (1) bench. Locate as most appropriate for playground supervision. AREA 2 6. Demolish and dispose of existing blue plane rocker, blue motorcycle rocker, blue car rocker, red dog rocker, and associated playground borders. All other playground equipment is to remain. 7. Install new spring rockers in the same general area as the removed rockers. Two rockers shall be double rider rockers (one style like a plane or spaceship; the other style like a car or truck. The other two shall be single rider rockers (one style like an animal; the other style like a truck/4 wheeler/or tractor). 8. Install new borders, ADA ramp, and wood chips as needed for the containment area. Rubber mats are to be installed under all slide exits. 9. Install (1) bench. Locate as most appropriate for playground supervision. AREA 3 10. Demolish and dispose of existing tan Jeep climber. All other equipment is to remain. 11. Install new imaginative play structure where Jeep climber was removed. Bid Result.
