RFQ Contractor - Pentwater Harbor Maintenance Dredging

In accordance with FAR Part 10 - Market Research, the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Detroit District is conducting market research to determine the availability of entities within the market to support the Pentwater Harbor Maintenance Dredging project. Participation in the Request for Information (RFI) process is important in that it makes USACE decision-makers aware of the capabilities that exist in the market. Responses will be collected via the attached questionnaire only. Data collected from the responses will become the property of the USACE and will be used to provide a snapshot of how businesses who participated are capable of providing service to support the construction of Pentwater Harbor streams. USACE does not claim nor suggest participation in this questionnaire will result in consideration or award of a federal contract. Participation in the questionnaire is entirely voluntary and non-participation will not affect the consideration of any company for future federal contracts. REQUEST FOR SOURCES SOUGHT (NOT A NOTICE OF SOLICITATION) The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Detroit District is seeking information on potential sources and feedback on the product requirements as identified under the project description paragraph. This Sources Sought Notice will be utilized by USACE, Detroit District to establish a list of sources interested in the Pentwater Harbor Maintenance Dredging project. Interested sources are encouraged to respond. The results from this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement if a requirement materializes. Based on the responses, this requirement may be set aside for small businesses (in full or in part) or procured through full and open competition. All small business set-aside categories will be considered. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted or acknowledged, and no feedback or evaluations will be provided to companies regarding submissions. The estimated magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Background information on potential project: The project is for Pentwater Harbor Maintenance Dredging located on the east shore of Lake Michigan, 146 miles northeasterly from Chicago, Illinois and 14 miles southerly from Ludington, Michigan. Mobilize dredge to Pentwater Harbor and dredge between the upstream and downstream limits. Place material between the Ordinary High-High-Water Mark (OHWM) and the most landward eight (8) foot contour starting at 800 feet North of North Breakwater and extending 2,500 feet North. Demobilize when dredging work is completed. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
