Description | Sealed Bids for the Town of Manteo Drainage Improvements - Agona Street and Simon Street On Wednesday October 4th , 2023, Bidders shall submit all questions regarding the project. One-hundred and twenty (120) days from the date of the Notice to Proceed project is to be completed. Liquidated Damages will be assessed at $ 300 / calendar day for every day beyond the contract completion date. The Town of Manteo reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Work described in these Specifications and Drawings is to be awarded in whole to a single General Contractor. The Contractor receiving the award shall furnish all material, equipment, temporary facilities and services required to construct the following generally described Project and all appurtenant construction thereto, as shown on the Drawings and as specified herein. 1.3 ITEMS OF WORK A. General: 1. Items below shall include all the work shown on the drawings to be properly constructed in accordance with the contract documents. B. Base Bid Items will include: 1. Installation and maintenance of erosion and sedimentation control measures 2. Removal and disposal of existing vegetation (including select trimming), stripping topsoil, ditch muck removal. 3. Installation of approximately 180' of ditch along the west side of Bideford 4. Removal and replacement of +/- 132 lf of existing roadway pavement and 1-1/2" overlay of +/- 322 lf of existing roadway. 5. Removal and disposal of curbing, storm sewer pipe and drainage structures on Agona Street.. 6. Installation of new storm sewer (including slotted drain pipe), drainage fittings and structures, rip-rap, curbing, sidewalk, ADA detectable warning surfaces. 7. Lowering of sanitary sewer laterals and a waterline lowering. 8. Pavement open cut and repairs. 9. Filling and backfilling, grading, seeding and mulching and/or matting and maintenance to establish vegetative stabilization. C. Alternate Bid Items include: 1. 1-1/2" overlay of an additional +/- 180 lf of existing roadway on Agona Street. 2. Replacement of existing storm drainage system on Simon Street to include pavement open cut and repair, removal and replacement of portions of curbing, sidewalk and ADA warning detectable domes and regrading a portion of swale. 3. Installation of new storm sewer system along Bideford in lieu of open ditch grading |
