Description | The specific engineering and permitting services for this contract may consist of, but not be limited to the following: 1. Hydrology and Hydraulics Engineering. Provide personnel and equipment to model, analyze, and design a wide array of coastal restoration structures including hydraulic design criteria, locations, elevations, and configurations of weirs, culverts, water control structures, inlet/outlet and conveyance channels, and flood/water management berms. Analyses could consist of hydrology and hydraulic modeling of tidal and storm flows. 2. Restoration Design. Provide personnel and equipment to design coastal wetland restoration including ecology, hydrology, geomorphology, civil engineering, and landscape architecture. Designs would include salt and brackish marsh, riparian, and potential upland and dune habitat. Produce an engineering opinion of probable cost to construct (OPC) and contractor-ready biddable plan set. 3. Structural Engineering. Provide personnel and equipment to analyze and design a wide array of hydraulic structures including gated inlet and outfall structures, weirs, flap-gated culverts, and structural foundations. Designs could consist of structural steel, concrete, timber, fiberglass and/or soil. 4. Geotechnical Engineering. Provide personnel and equipment to perform geotechnical investigations, analyses, and design. These services may include but are not limited to supporting water control structure design and wetland restoration design (e.g., slope stability analysis, settlement analysis, etc.) 5. General Engineering. Provide personnel and equipment to perform engineering design for a coastal restoration project including, but not limited to: • General engineering and hydraulic studies • Analysis and manipulation of data sets and GIS software • Technical document development, review, and presentation • Preparation of construction documents including plans, specifications and bid packages • Engineer’s opinion of probable construction cost |
