Description

Construction of Bexar County Emergency Services District No. 2 Fire Station 121 and Remodel of Training Hall PROJECT INFORMATION Project Location: 2096 Talley Road, San Antonio, TX 78253 Project Scope: The Project's Base Bid consists of the construction of a new Fire Station 121, renovated training facility, and all associated site and utility work. The new fire station complex will be located on 2.198 acres of existing Fire Station 121 on Talley Road. The new Fire Station will be approximately 19,600 sq ft, including living and sleeping quarters, offices, support spaces, five pull-through apparatus bays, and support spaces. The custom fire station is a steel-framed building with a masonry and fiber cement plank exterior. The original wood structure fire station located at the rear of the site will be fully renovated, including exterior materials to be an approximately 3,500 sq ft training classroom building with support spaces. Within the scope of the project is the replacement of the existing septic and well utilities with public utilities. Covered parking, driveways, architectural fencing, demolition of existing (non-renovated) facilities, and all site work are within the scope of work. All work will be awarded under a single prime contract. RECEIPT OF CONTRACTOR QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETITIVE SEALED BID PROPOSALS: Sealed proposals including Part 1 (Contractor Qualifications), Part 2A (Bid Security), and Part 2B (Competitive Sealed Bid Proposals) will be received by the Bexar County ESD No. 2 Part 2 A (Bid Security) & Part 2 B (Competitive Sealed Bid Proposals) will be publicly opened during the Bexar County ESD No. 2 public board meeting that evening at 7:00 p.m. The names of the proposers, the monetary bid proposal, and contract time proposals will be read aloud in the Bexar County ESD No. 2 Board meeting. The Competitive Sealed Proposal method of procurement requires multiple submittals of the Proposals Sections as set forth in the Instructions to Bidders. After receiving Part 1 (Contractor Qualifications) of the Proposals, the Owner will evaluate and rank each Contractor Qualification submitted in relation to the published selection criteria. These rankings will be held until receipt and evaluation of Part 2A & Part 2B of the Proposals. After receiving Part 2A & Part 2B, the Owner will select the Competitive Sealed Proposal that offers the best value to Bexar County ESD No. 2 based on the published selection criteria and on the ranking evaluation.
