Additional Project contact information is specified in Section 000103 - Project Directory. E. The Project consists of the construction of Renovation of a historic single story building with a basement and a new single story building that is connected to the historic building with a stand alone canopy. Vecino Construction is the general contractor for the Washington School Project located at 205 South Locust, Pittsburg, KS 66762. The original school was constructed in 1887, but was torn down and rebuilt in 1937, giving us the building that currently stands today. This facility operated as an elementary school until 1956 and has been vacant since that time . Rehabbing this Historic Building, and constructing an additional , will provide much needed childcare to 216 children from infants to pre-k. The historic remodel will include all new roof structures and salvaging numerous historical items for reuse, along with all new MEP systems and finishes for the 14,150 SF building. T he new building is a 5,790 SF wood framed structure with brick façade, consisting of 5 classrooms and numerou s restrooms. Also , included i s paved drive and drop off lanes, as well as parking area for 43 vehicles.
