Asphalt Paving

Scope: The work covered by this item shall consist of the repaving, crack sealing, and cold planing of existing streets. Surface preparation work will be covered in each section. The Town will authorize preparation work in advance by Public Works Director. The listed quantities and roadway list are estimates of work that may be performed. The actual amount of work to be performed will be based on the annual budgetary constraints of the Town The Town of Smyrna will not discriminate in the purchase of all goods and services on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or any other lawfully protected classification. Verbal quotations or quotations received after the closing date will not be accepted. The Town of Smyrna reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive technicalities or informalities and to accept any bid deemed to be in the best interest of the Town. The contractor will be expected to complete all work within the allotted time, and failure to do so will result in liquidated damages being assessed against the contractor at the rate of $250.00 per calendar day until all the work for that period is completed. Consideration will be given for each day the contractor is unable to work due to weather. The Town of Smyrna reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive technicalities or informalities and to accept any bid deemed to be in the best interest of the Town.
