Description | As of September 14, 2023 the previous construction manager has withdrawn. The project is unlikely to bid for trades prior to 2024 and a firm date has not been determined. A firm timeline for construction has been determined. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Capital Development Board (CDB) requests qualifications from Construction Management firms to provide Construction Management Services at Agency Professional Services in connection with the above project. Firm acting as a Construction Manager (CM) must be pre-qualified with the Capital Development Board as a CM. A combined MBE/WBE goal of 20 percent is applicable to the team. Some level of participation from both MBE and WBE firms is required to satisfy this goal (this requires including one or more MBE AND one or more WBE firms on the team). A VBE/PBE goal of 3 percent is applicable to the team. Final approval of selection of the Construction Manager is scheduled for the March 8, 2022, CDB Board meeting. The interviews for this project are tentatively scheduled for February 22, 2022. The scope of work provides for a complete restoration of the existing Altgeld Hall and replacement of Illini Hall with a new facility in its location for the Departments of Mathematics and Statistics, as well as providing a hub for the creation site for an incubator for data science on the campus. Hazardous materials may be encountered. The State Historic Preservation Office should be consulted during every phase of this project. The project consists of four phases. The facility must be designed and constructed to meet the minimum of LEED Platinum Certification. Commissioning will be provided by the Construction Manager for Phase 3 and Phase 4. Estimated Total Project Budget: $192,000,000.
