Description

The Town of Orange is seeking qualified contractors to complete ADA and multi modal travel improvements along approximately 0.3 miles or roadway. Beginning from the Main Street Intersection and concluding past the Orange Armory Building, this project will include the installation of 26 yellow surface-mounted detectable warning surfaces. Additionally, this project includes the installation of 11 concrete ADA wheel chair ramps. The installation of these ramps includes earth excavation, gravel borrow, fine grading and compacting, granite transition curb for pedestrian curb ramps, curb removed and discarded, and the cement concrete wheelchair ramp. This project also includes line painting of +/- 1344 linear feet of 6 inch reflectorized white line thermoplastic paint and +/- 9,900 linear feet of 12 inch reflectorized white line thermoplastic paint. This includes painting of crosswalks, pavement markings, and on street parking spaces. An estimated 425 square feet of existing pavement markings will need to be removed in the replacement of existing crosswalks. Additionally, the contractor will install 22 square yards of concrete padding for one full sized bus shelter, to be procured and installed by the Town. This shelter will feature a seating element and full sized schedule and map holder. A second narrow style bus shelter with heating element will be procured and installed by the Town upon an existing concrete pad. This shelter will include an equivalent sized bus schedule holder. Adjacent to the narrow style bus shelter, the contractor will install a U shaped bike rack. Finally, the contractor will provide and install necessary signage for bus stops and cross walks. This will include two 24 in x 24 in highly reflective bus signs, one sign guide and route marker, forty nine(49) pedestrian warning signs and plaques, and one warning-regulatory and route marker aluminum panel.
