Description

The owner has selected a Construction Manager. Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) Facilities Services has identified specific needs to replace or renew select systems and components, including fire alarm, intercom, and security camera (low voltage) sub-systems, for a renovation project known as Multiple Site Low Voltage Systems Capital Renewal, at approximately 40 schools, District-Wide, with an estimated construction budget of $20,700,000. The various campuses include Elementary, K8, Middle, and High schools across the District; some are single-building campuses; others have multiple-buildings. The School Board of Orange County, Florida is interested in entering into a contract with a single qualified firm to perform Construction Management (CM) at risk services, as outlined in the contract to be entered into, the form of said contract being attached hereto. The CM is responsible for the successful, timely, and economical completion of the construction projects. The Contract(s) shall be subject to the limitations and restrictions of Florida Statutes. Major elements of the project include: a) Full replacement of fire alarm systems, incl. voice evacuation at select campuses. b) Replacement of copper connectivity between buildings with fiber optics for fire alarm systems at select campuses. c) Full replacement of intercom systems, including call buttons, at select campuses. d) Full replacement of security camera systems, including additional cameras needed to meet current coverage standards, at select campuses. The general services outlined below will be performed: 1) Pre-Construction Phase Services shall include but are not limited to: attending any and all design and preconstruction conferences, assisting and cooperating with the Design Professional with respect to the design of the Project, reviewing and commenting on design documents, constructability review, advertising & conducting pre-bid conference, providing cost estimates & GMP development, preparing construction schedule and incorporating design schedule into a single project schedule, refining general requirements and general conditions, and documenting as-is conditions (including offsite utilities from which connections are to be made). 2) Construction Phase Services include, but are not limited to, furnishing and paying for all management, supervision, financing, labor, materials, tools, fuel, supplies, utilities, equipment and services of every kind and type necessary to diligently, timely and fully perform and complete the construction of the entire Project in a good and workmanlike manner in accordance with the Construction Documents. The Construction Management team shall provide all necessary construction services to deliver to the owner a safe, finished, and fully functioning facility within the estimated construction budget. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this time. Shortlist Confirmed. *As of March 15, 2022 this project could go out for sub bidding around May 9th, 2022.
