Description | The City of Grand Forks, herein referred to as Owner, engages Contractor as an independent contractor, and not as an employee, to provide the work necessary to renovate a rain garden and surrounding landscape as indicated on the attached map. The work will include, but is not limited to, removal and replacement of topsoil and existing plants, adding landscape rock and mulching, and other related work. Project location SW corner of the intersection of 17th Avenue South and South Washington Street, as shown on attached map. Description of Work o Removal of all existing plants in bed o Removal of top 8" - 10" of topsoil from bed area o Replacement of 6" - 8' of high-quality black dirt, preferably a mix of black dirt and peat, free of rock and other debris o Provide landscaping river rock, approximately 3" - 6" in diameter, as shown on attached drawing o Provide new plants listed and as shown on attached drawing o Furnish and install double ground hard wood mulch at a 3" depth workmanship throughout shall conform to the highest standard of commercial-accepted practice for the class of work and shall result in a neat and finished appearance. This includes providing proper care for all plants from the time of planting until the final payment of contract. Proper care of plants consists of supplemental watering, weeding, spraying, and other work as necessary to keep plants in a neat appearance and in a healthy growing condition. The Owner retains the right to immediately terminate the contract upon failure by the Contractor to perform the work as specified. The work, if awarded, shall be completed forty-five (45) days after acceptance of quote or by June 15, whichever is more favorable for planting Final acceptance shall be determined after an inspection by an agent of the Owner with a Contractor's representative to determine completion of the project |
