Description | The proposed Work is generally described as follows: The Work includes the construction of a new split mechanical cooling system consisting of two air handling units located on the roof of the Intake and two condensing units located on a new elevated platform adjacent to the Intake; the replacement of four natural gas fired unit heaters; the replacement of the membrane roofing system; electrical and instrumentation work and all other work as indicated on the drawings and as specified. The Advertisement for Bid is furnished by Black & Veatch Corporation for advertisement of Project MP-21018 by the Owner. All inquiries about the Advertisement for Bid may be made by calling Jim Winger, Project Manager, at (913) 458-3484. The site of the project is located at 4340 North 60 th Street, Kansas City, Kansas, 66104 (Missouri River and 60 th Street).Neither Owner nor Engineer has any responsibility for the accuracy, completeness or sufficiency of any bid documents obtained from any source other than the sources indicated in these documents. Obtaining these documents from any other source(s) may result in obtaining incomplete and inaccurate information. Obtaining these documents from any source other than directly from the sources listed herein may also result in failure to receive any addenda, corrections, or other revisions to these documents that may be issued. Attendance at a Pre-Bid conference, as specified in the Instructions to Bidders, is mandatory. Bids will be received on a lump sum basis. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond (EJCDC Penal Sum form) of 5% of the amount of the bid. The Bid security shall be made payable, without exception, to Water District No. 1 of Johnson County, Kansas, hereinafter referred to as Owner. The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Public Works Bond as security for the faithful performance and the payment of all bills and obligations arising from the performance of the Contract. If the Contract is to be awarded, Owner will award a Contract to the Bidder who, in Owner's judgment, is the lowest, qualified, responsible, and responsive Bidder. Bids will be evaluated based on the criteria stipulated in the Instructions to Bidders. Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, including without limitation the right to reject any or all erroneous, nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced, or conditional Bids, and to reject the Bid of any Bidder or all Bids if Owner believes that it would not be in the best interest of Owner to make an award to that Bidder. Owner also reserves the right to waive informalities. If the Contract is to be awarded, Owner will give the Successful Bidder a Notice of Award within the number of days set forth in the Bid Form for acceptance of the Bid. |
