| Description | Recommended changes and upgrades to the Traction Power feeder cables originating from Midtown Traction Power Breaker 54-4 feeding Contact Rail (CR) 42 (see Exhibit A-1), with the replacement of the 200 ft. of 750mcm Feeder cables, MARTA will have a reliable source of power for the Contact Rail which supplies 3rd rail power to the train. Scope 1. The Contractor must obtain level 1 wayside Certification within three (3) weeks following the issuance of the Notice to Proceed in accordance with MARTA Wayside Procedures (see Attachment A). 2. Remove (3) 750 Thousand Circular Mil (KCmil) cables (conduit T8) located in the Junction box in the west wall of the NL track at STA 117 +60 to the pot head located on the NL track at 116+02. 3. Install (3) 750 Thousand Circular Mil (KCmil)cables (conduit T8) in the Junction box in the west wall of the NL track at STA 117 +60 to the pot head located on the NL track at 116+02. 4. Splice new cables to existing cables in the Junction Box in the west wall of the NL track at STA 117+60. 5. Perform Meg test on new cables as to meet insulation criteria. The minimum resistance be set to 2 mega-ohms per 1000 feet. 6. Return old Cables to MARTA’s Electrical Power and Equipment (EPE) Department | ||
