Description | scope of work and the physical conditions that could affect the performance of work or the cost thereof. All site visits shall be made at Contractor's expense. Failure to visit the Project site(s) shall not relieve Contractor from performing the work according to the bid specifications. Bidders shall obtain prior authorization to visit the Project site, and shall contact the Project Administrator to obtain such authorization. For bids equaling or exceeding $500,000, a bid bond in the amount of FIVE PERCENT (5%) of the total amount of the bid (including base bid plus all alternates), having as surety thereon a bonding company licensed to do business in the State of Mississippi, drawn in favor of JPSD, must accompany Contractor's bid.Contractor's payment and performance bonds and all other required documentation are received by the Project Administrator. JPSD shall then return to the Contractor the principal amount of the certified check. JPSD shall retain any interest earned on the proceeds of the certified check. The payment and performance bonds shall be written by a surety authorized to do business in the state of Mississippi and satisfactory to JPSD.s. Each bond shall be payable to, in favor of or for the protection of JPSD, as owner, in the amount of ONE HUNDRED PERCENT (100%) of the total contract amount. The contractor's right to proceed with the work or the part of the work as to which there has been a failure to pay the required wages. The Government may have the work completed, by contract or otherwise, and the contractor and the contractor's sureties shall be liable to the Government for any excess costs the Government incurs. |
