Airport Design, Construction and Aviation Planning

The Bureau of Aeronautics is responsible for the oversight of the State’s aviation system. All aviation facilities and activities are licensed through the Bureau of Aeronautics. In addition, the Bureau also promotes aviation safety and inspects all public-use airports annually and all other facilities on an as-needed basis. The Bureau also oversees the operation of the NJDOT-owned airports such as the South Jersey Regional Airport and Greenwood Lake Airport. The Bureau is also responsible for maintaining statewide aviation data by regularly updating specific contact information for every facility/activity and by periodically updating the State Airport System Plan and the Economic Impact Study. The Bureau of Aeronautics is also the lead agency for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS)/Drones operations at NJDOT. The Department utilizes UAS technology where appropriate to increase safety, reduce congestion and save time. Task Orders under this Professional Services Agreement will secure consulting, staffing, technical, engineering and/or professional services necessary to support the activities of the Bureau and/or Division on an as-needed basis. The attached Scope of Work will enable the Bureau to address pertinent Aviation/Airport/UAS critical needs.
