Road Repair - West Carlsbad Loop

The Work is to provide repair and hot mix overlay of a section of W. Carlsbad Loop between U.S. 87 North and Burma Road to the County.The scope of services requested in this RFB includes the items listed below: Add 4’ in width to the west side of W. Carlsbad loop by approximately 300’ in length from US 87 to two lane portion of W. Carlsbad Loop (making this section approximately 40’ wide) (See Attachment 3 – Intersection Map). Cut out existing material to allow for a minimum of 8” of compacted base. Add minimum of 8” compacted base material. Hot mix to same level as road per TXDOT specs . Remove existing striping and restripe to three equal lanes (approx. 13’ wide). From 300’ taper to 500’ both sides of road in to existing two-lane. Three (3) inch thick overlay (overlay of existing pavement) of TXDOT Super Pave Type B hot mix, match existing roadway width (approximately 22’) and taper edges. Tie to existing paving grade by tapering an extended length of 150’ (feet) from the 3” overlay down to current grade. Approximately .9 miles from U.S. Hwy 87 on W. Carlsbad Loop (See Attachment 2) ties into existing hot mix. No Backfilling or milling is required. Thermal pavement stripping/markings to be installed per TXDOT specs. Approximately 2.2 miles – from US 87 to Turner Rd. (approx. 1.1 of W. Carlsbad Loop and 1.1 miles of Burma Rd.). See Attachment 2 for map of location. Responsible for Dig Test prior to any excavation. Traffic control during project. One lane of travel must remain open at all times.
