Description

Sealed bids are hereby solicited for construction of the Rehabilitation of the Activated Sludge Effluent Pump Station project, at the Noman M. Cole, Jr., Pollution Control Plant (NCPCP) located at 9399 Richmond Highway, Lorton, Virginia 22079. Only firms that have been pre-qualified will be eligible to submit bids for this project. The work at the Activated Sludge Effluent Pump Station (ASE PS; Building BB) includes: 1. Removal and replacement of six vertical turbine pumps. 2. Removal and replacement of seven cast-iron sluice gates and seven actuators. 3. Removal and replacement of 14 valves and six actuators. 4. Coordination of all Work necessary to make the gate and pumping systems complete and functioning for all intended purposes. 5. Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I): Removal of existing E&I wiring, and terminations as required, and completion of other necessary elements of the Work. 6. Structural: Provide concrete repairs, replacement of anchor bolts, and other structural modifications and work associated with the new equipment and process improvements, as required. This is a Lump Sum Contract. Contract length is 1336 calendar days. All bidders shall comply with Article A-21, Fairfax County Construction Safety Resolution. Bidders request for determination of eligibility to bid must be received by the County in accordance with provisions shown in Contract Section A, information For Bidders. All questions concerning the project shall be electronically submitted in writing to the Director, Wastewater Design and Construction Division, Department of Public Works and Environmental Services, e-mail address: dpwescapwastewatertreatmentinquiry@fairfaxcounty.gov, and, to be given consideration, must be received at least seven (7) calendar days prior to the date fixed for the opening of the bids. This office is the only point where information will be disseminated. Bid Security must accompany each proposal in accordance with Information for Bidders. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of Sixty (60) calendar days after the opening thereof. The procedure specified under Section 2.2-4330(A) (i), VA Code Ann. shall apply the bidder shall give notice in writing of his claim of right to withdraw his bid within two (2) business days after the conclusion of the bid opening procedure; The Board of Supervisors of Fairfax County, Virginia reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities and irregularities in bidding, and to accept bids which are considered to be in the best interest of the County.
