RFP D/B - Design and Construct New Gravity Thickener No. 4

Last Day for Questions:08/03/2022 before 8:00 a.m. ET. Qualified contractors to design and construct new Gravity Thickener No. 4 and associated mechanical equipment, piping and accessories. A five percent (5%) Bid Bond from a surety licensed to do business in the State of Maryland and satisfactory to the County, certified check, or bank Cashier's/Treasurer's Check shall accompany the proposal or the proposal will not be considered. Bid Bonds shall have the accompanying Power of Attorney.A Performance Bond and Labor & Material Payment Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required for this project and contract, from sureties licensed to do business in the State of Maryland The Contractor shall, at the time of Final Completion Acceptance, furnish a Maintenance Bond in favor of the County in the amount of 5 percent of the total value of the Contract a. Monthly written progress reports shall be provided with an individual monthly invoice. b. Design-Builder shall attend a kickoff meeting with the County and Owners Advisor before initiating any work. Design-Builder shall prepare and distribute the agenda in advance. Minutes shall be prepared and distributed by the Design-Builder following the meeting. c. Release of selected equipment for fabrication prior to receipt of 100% Design Submission and obtaining permits may be permitted with County and Owners Advisor approval. d. Design-Builder is responsible for all components necessary to provide a complete and functional gravity thickening system, whether those components are explicitly named in this Scope of Services or not. e. No deviation shall be allowed from equipment, materials, or approach proposed in Offerors Technical Proposal and this RFP without County and Owners Advisor approval. The project shall be completed in accordance with all applicable Local, State, and Federal codes, laws, ordinances, regulations, standards, etc. At minimum, the following scope of work shall be provided: a. New Gravity Thickener No. 4 The work shall be completed within nine hundred twelve (912) consecutive calendar days from Notice to Proceed - Design shall not exceed three hundred sixty-five (365) consecutive calendar days from design Notice to Proceed. Construction Notice to Proceed shall start no later than three hundred sixty-five (365) consecutive calendar days from design Notice to Proceed. Construction shall be completed within five hundred forty-seven (547) consecutive calendar days from construction Notice to Proceed.
