Engineering - IH 41 Zoo Freeway

This project includes IH 41 from Burleigh to Silver Spring Dr in Milwaukee County. The purpose is to rehabilitate existing deteriorated pavement and bridges and add auxiliary lanes along the corridor. Bridge Rehabilitation to be done on 13 bridges within the corridor. 1100-20-70 This Project ID includes mill and resurfacing the existing pavement from Burleigh St. to Capitol Dr. Base patching will be done where pavement needs. The UPRR bridge will be widened to accommodate the added auxiliary lane between Burleigh and Capitol. 1100-20-71 This Project ID includes mill and resurfacing the existing pavement from Capitol Dr. to Silver Spring Dr. Base patching will be done where pavement needs. Noise walls to be constructed on either side of IH 41 the length of the corridor. Consultant will provide Project Leader, Office/Materials Engineer, Structures Lead, Traffic Engineer, Roadway Lead, Electrical Lead, and up to 8 support staff. Consultant support staff includes general inspection as well as PWL testing, Bridge Coating Inspection, and Survey as needed. Full staffing is anticipated in the Spring of 2023 through fall of 2023. Reduced hours and/or staffing during winter 2023-2024 should be anticipated with a slight increase in Spring 2024. Functional leaders will not always have staff available and are expected to routinely perform active inspection to cover contractor operations.
