Description

Proposed project consists of the following: 1. Systematic removal of two (2) 10,000 gallon ferric and ferrous chloride fiberglass reinforced tanks. Each vessel is 13' high x 11'-6" in diameter and are situated within concrete secondary containment areas approximately 19.5' x 16' x 5' inside of treatment plant operational Galleries 1 and 2. Tanks will be removed and replaced in stages so that the storage facility can remain in operation in a limited capacity during the work. The Contractor shall follow all OSHA procedures in the handling of hazardous corrosive materials to ensure that tank internals are free of chemical product prior to disassembly. 2. Preparation, priming, and repainting of the secondary containment system using a chemically compatible epoxy material that meets the permeability requirements of 6 NYCRR 599.9. 3. Installation of two (2) new poly lined, wood staved 8,500 gallon storage tanks measuring 12' high x 12'-3" in diameter. These structures shall be erected within the original secondary containment areas on existing concrete pads. The Contractor will be responsible for the restoration of all plumbing and mechanical connections necessary to return the ferric and ferrous chloride chemical storage system(s) back to full operation.
