Description | Yellowtail Dam Spillway Tunnel Concrete Repair, Apron Protection, and Rockfall Protection System. Work under these specifications is located in the vicinity of the Yellowtail Dam spillway stilling basin. Yellowtail Dam is located in south central Montana on the Big Horn River, approximately one mile west of Fort Smith, Big Horn County, Montana. The work to be performed includes the following: 1. Remove and replace damaged portions of concrete along the crown of the spillway tunnel. 2. Construct a reinforced concrete slab on the spillway apron along the east side of the stilling basin, graded to drain into the river channel downstream. 3. Furnish and install fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) grating system between the west stilling basin parapet wall and the adjacent cliff face. 4. Design, furnish, and install a rockfall protection system along the cliff face to the west and south of the spillway stilling basin. |
