Description

As of May 16, 2022, all bids received were over budget. Although it has not been confirmed, the project may be out for rebid in the future. Demolishing the existing, failing, concrete-block retaining walls and concrete stairs on the hillside between the Tasker Admissions Building and the UConn Foundation Building parking lot and build new cast - in place reinforced concrete retaining walls with stone facing. It includes replacing concrete sidewalks, replacing four existing streetlights and adding one additional, removing all landscaping including trees and regrade hillside, installing new trees, shrubbery, flower beds and lawn Construction is planned to start: Physical construction cannot start earlier than May 9th 2022 Construction duration: Substantial completion must be achieved by August 5th 2022 RFI Deadline Date 1/07/2022 2:00 PM Contractors prequalified for $100K-$500K Sitework may submit a bid for this project. The "Set-Aside" Requirement for this Project is that (1) not less than thirty percent (30%) of the Total Contract Price be awarded to subcontractors who are certified by the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services as "Small Business Enterprises" ("SBEs") and (2) not less than ten percent (10%) of the Total Contract Price be awarded to subcontractors who are certified by the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services as "Minority Business Enterprises" ("MBEs") (the 10% set aside for MBEs may be included in the 30% set aside for SBEs). If the Contractor is an S/MBE, then any self-performed work may be included in the Set-Aside Requirement. The Contractor is responsible for ensuring that they, and the S/MBEs they have selected, are eligible Connecticut-certified S/MBE contractors. The University reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, in whole or in part, to award any item, group of items, or total bid; and to waive any informality or technical defects; if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the University.
