An Optional Pre-Bid Conference will be held in the City Hall 1st Floor Conference Room located at: 900 Church Street, Lynchburg, VA 24504. There will be a "VirtualPre-Bid Conference" link on the City's website at: www.lynchburgva.gov/current-solicitations so that the public can click on and participate in the proceedings via a smartphone or laptop. Site visits will follow Pre-Bid Conference. 2401 High Street, Lynchburg, Virginia, 24504 The Scope of Work includes the removal of approximately 42 squares of existing TPO roof and rigid insulation down to the existing Q-Deck Long span metal roof deck. New rigid polyiso insulation will be installed and a fully adhered TPO roof. The existing roof drains will have retrofit roof drains installed into the existing roof drain. Insert additional paragraphs for other major items of work. See Evaluations for model text. Project will be constructed under a single prime contract. Project Description: Part A: Dunbar Middle School - Boiler House Roof: 1200 Polk Street, Lynchburg, Virginia, 24504 The Scope of Work includes the removal of approximately 15 squares of existing built-up roof system down to the existing gypsum roof deck. An SBS modified base sheet will be installed onto the existing gypsum roof deck. New tapered rigid polyiso insulation will be installed and a fully adhered TPO roof. The existing copper gutter and downspouts will remain in place and be reused. There is an Alternate for additional work at this location. Please refer to Section 12300 - "Alternates" for additional information. Part B: Dearington Elementary School - Shingle Roof: 210 Smyth Street, Lynchburg, Virginia, 24504 The Scope of Work includes the removal of approximately 38 squares of existing shingle roof and underlayment down to the existing wood roof deck. New underlayment and ice and water shield will be installed. A new asphalt shingle roof will be installed. The existing gutters and downspouts will be demolished and new gutters and downspouts will be installed. New corrugated HDPR plastic piping will be provided to direct the water away from the existing building as it exits the downspouts. The existing roof hatch (steep slope roof) will be demolished and a new roof hatch will be installed in the existing opening. The existing vinyl siding and trim will be removed from the existing dormer. New fiber cement siding and trim will be installed on the dormer and painted with (2) finish coats of paint. Part C: Dearington Elementary School - Section B Roof: 210 Smyth Street, Lynchburg, Virginia, 24504 *City Hall access is currently restricted for the second and third floors, including access to the Procurement Office. FedEx, UPS and the USPS have access to the building to deliver mail/packages to the Procurement Office. If vendors choose to hand deliver bids, they can do so at the Citizens First Information Center in the first-floor lobby of City Hall at 900 Church Street, Lynchburg, VA 24504, Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A Procurement Office staff member will be contacted by Citizens First to retrieve the bid and time stamp it at that time. It is the sole responsibility for the Bidder to ensure their bid is time stamped prior to the deadline for submission. Please allow additional time to ensure this is done.
