Description | Provide all necessary supervision, field staffing, equipment and materials required to install the referenced manual double swing parking lot gate (Figure 2). The style shown in Figure 2 is for illustration purposes and is not required to be exactly this style. Contractor must identify the style of gate to be provided in proposal. • Contractor will install gate per manufacturer’s gate installation specifications. • Each section of the gate will be 16 feet in length to provide an opening of 32 feet. • Gate materials shall be at a minimum galvanized, painted and/or powder coated high visibility yellow schedule 40 steel. • A minimum 8 mil highly visible reflective alternating red and white diagonally striped tape will be applied to the top bar (gate arms). • Where the two swing gates come together, a locking mechanism that can be padlocked shall be provided that will prevent the gate from opening. • Gate hinges shall be at a minimum dual sealed bearing hinges. • Gate hinge posts will at a minimum be installed with concrete footings as required by gate manufacturer. Footings will ensure that the hinged posts will not creep allowing the gate to sag. • Soil cuttings from the post installation can by spread evenly onsite in low areas to the south of the installation but cannot be placed in the drainage ditches. If concrete or asphalt cuttings are generated during the post installation, those cuttings shall be removed from the site and properly disposed. • Contractor will shall properly dispose all non-soil waste products (packaging and other trash) generated during the installation effort. |
