Description

Bids rejected - over budget. Inquiries must be received no later than May 13, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. in order to be considered. Contact initiated by a bidder concerning this solicitation with any other County representative, not expressly authorized elsewhere in this document, is prohibited. Any such unauthorized contact may result in disqualification of the bidder from this transaction. I. PURPOSE The purpose of this Invitation for Bids (IFB) is to solicit bids for all labor, equipment, and materials necessary for construction of security vestibules inside the primary entrance at five Chesterfield County Public Schools: Cosby High School (14300 Fox Club Pkwy, Midlothian, VA 23112), Clover Hill High School (13301 Kelly Green Ln, Midlothian, VA 23112), Matoaca High School (17700 Longhouse Ln, Chesterfield, VA 23838), Matoaca Middle School (6001 Hickory Rd, Petersburg, VA 23803), Meadowbrook High School (4901 Cogbill Rd, North Chesterfield, VA 23234). II. SCOPE OF WORK/SPECIFICATIONS Specifications and drawings prepared by Commonwealth Architects, dated 3/29/2022 are included in ATTACHMENTS C, D, E, F and G. Information regarding use of a brand name is addressed in Section V.B. SPECIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS, page 20 item 5. Variance in specifications deemed not to be material, in the sole discretion of the County, may be allowed in determining the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Materials for construction must be ordered within 10 days of NTP. Work hours shall be between 7:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. Weekend work may be possible with 48 hours advance coordination with the CCPS Project Manager. 1. Cosby High School - Refer to Attachment C, Entry Improvements for additional information. The work proposed under this solicitation shall include, but is not limited to: o Installation of a vestibule inside the primary school entrance, and a single door exit from the main office into the adjacent corridor. o Slab demolition and subbase removal to install a structural base and column. o Installation of new aluminum storefront wall system with operable doors. o Concrete footings and slab patch by an ACI-certified Flatwork Technician and Finisher and a supervisor who is an ACI-certified Concrete Flatwork Technician. o VCT flooring, office casework modifications, minor painting, and owner provided electrical. 2. Clover Hill High School - Refer to Attachment D, Entry Improvements for additional information. The work proposed under this solicitation shall include, but is not limited to: o Installation of a vestibule inside the primary school entrance, and a single door exit from the main office into the adjacent corridor. o Slab demolition and subbase removal to install a structural base and column. o Installation of new aluminum storefront wall system with operable doors. o Concrete footings and slab patch by an ACI-certified Flatwork Technician and Finisher and a supervisor who is an ACI-certified Concrete Flatwork Technician. o VCT flooring, office casework modifications, minor painting, and owner provided electrical. 3.
