Description | This Contract provides for water system improvements within the Valley Water Districts Sierra Site. The completed work will provide the Owner with a new treatment skid (installed on-site inside the existing building); new piping systems, including underground and above-grade piping to connect to the existing system, new structural modifications, electrical, controls, and telemetry upgrades; site restoration, and other items to improve the Valley Water Districts Sierra System domestic potable water system. The Contractor shall provide and install all water system improvements as shown in the Drawings and described in the Specifications. Bidders should note that following contract execution, contract time may be suspended for the procurement of major mechanical and electrical equipment items to accommodate anticipated long lead times. All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid deposit by a cashiers or certified check, or Bid Bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into a contract and furnish satisfactory Performance Bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid deposit or bond shall be forfeited to the Valley Water District. The Contractor shall complete all work within 85 working days. All bid proposals shall be in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and all other contract documents. Any questions concerning the description of the work contained in the contract documents must be directed in written form only to Will Smythe, PE, by email at wsmythe@parametrix.com prior to bid opening date. This online plan room provides Bidders with fully usable online documents with the ability to: download, view, print, order full/partial plan sets from numerous reprographic sources, and a free online digitizer/take-off tool. It is recommended that Bidders Register in order to receive automatic e-mail notification of future addenda and to place themselves on the Self-Registered Bidders List. Bidders that do not register will not be automatically notified of addenda and will need to periodically check electronically for addenda issued on this project. The District, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49 C.F.R., Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally-assisted programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises as defined at 49 CFR Part 23 will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex in consideration for an award. The Valley Water District reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive any informalities or minor irregularities in the bidding, and determine which bid or bidder meets the criteria set forth in the bid documents. No bidder may withdraw his bid after the hour set for the opening thereof unless the award is delayed for a period exceeding ninety (90) days. |
