Twin Sludge Force Main Rehabilitation

The work to be performed under this Contract and in accordance with the specifications consists of the furnishing of all equipment, superintendents, labor, skill, material and all other items necessary to rehabilitate the County’s 16,600 ± linear foot (lf) twin sludge force mains system total approximate length of force main 33,200 lf ±, as well as additional piping at WWTPs. This force main system transports primary and secondary sludge from Mamaroneck Wastewater Treatment Plant to the New Rochelle Wastewater Treatment Plant along Boston Post Road and Le Fevres Lane. In general, the work includes, but is not limited to, CCTV inspection and cleaning of the two sludge force mains, installation of a pressure pipe liner in each of the 8-inch diameter cast iron sludge force mains, miscellaneous point repairs and pipe bend replacements on force main piping, installation of flexible pipe joints in select locations, rehabilitation of the force main control chambers, replacement of ball valves at New Rochelle WWTP, restoration, etc., and all other work necessary to provide complete and operable systems between the Mamaroneck and New Rochelle Wastewater Treatment Plants located in Westchester County, New York. The contractor shall perform all work required for such construction in accordance with the Contract Documents and subject to the terms and condition of the Contract, complete and ready use. Alternate 1: The work to be performed under Alternate 1 and in accordance with the specifications consists of the furnishing of all equipment, superintendents, labor, skill, materials and all other items necessary for the replacement of pumps and motors for the sludge transfer pumping system and pressure switches at the force main at the Mamaroneck WWTP It is not intended that this description of work mention each particular item required, but that it give information concerning the general scope and areas of work for the convenience of the bidders.
