Description | The Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA) Metro Red Line and Purple Line have been in service for 27 years and the (Type 1) Fasteners are showing signs of wear and cracking that need to be replaced. Without this work and replacement of these worn and cracking mainline fasteners, these rail lines have a potential for placement of slow orders on train movement mandated. The Contractor shall provide labor and material to replace all Type 1 Fasteners (approximately 112,000) with New Type 1 DF fasteners over a Total Track Alignment of 16 miles of the DoubleTrack Underground Rail System. Any unused Type 1 Mainline Fasteners will be sent to Metro to be used as Spares at the end of the Contract. The Metro Schedule of Quantities and Pricing Form identified a quantity of 1000 spares fasteners and 500 spares shims as part of this contract. The Contractor will be allowed a variance of plus or minus ten percent (10%) of the spares. |
