Description

The Project generally involves The 2022 Major Streets Sealing Project proposes to surface seal approximately 26 miles of streets located in various parts of the City of San Jose. The process of surface sealing is typically performed in two separate stages. The first stage removes the structurally failed areas of pavement and replaces them with new asphalt concrete, which will be completed as part of the 2022 Major Streets Remove and Replace Asphalt Concrete Pavement Project, the 2022 Major Streets Concrete & ADA Ramp Major Project #1, and the 2022 Major Streets Concrete & ADA RAmp Minor Project #1. The second stage, which is part of the 2022 Major Streets Sealing Project, applies a new surface seal over the entire street. Microsurfacing is a thin layer preventative maintenance treatment used to extend the life of the road. All the roadway striping and traffic markings will be reinstalled with thermoplastic paint.
