Description | The removal and replacement of the Civic Center Auditorium flooring, including the stage. The existing flooring is hardwood, 2 1/4" maple floor. If the flooring has value and can be re-purposed contractors are encouraged to reflect that in the pricing. The existing sub-floor is questionable because the floor is extremely squeaky and the hardwood boards are breaking. For that reason the sub-floor is to be removed and replaced as well. The square footages are estimates. The City will pay actual square footage. Contractors are encouraged to inspect the auditorium. The new sub-floor is to be 3/4" tongue and groove plywood, glued and screwed to the joists to eliminate squeaks. The hardwood flooring is to be 2 1/4" wide x 3/4" thick, maple hardwood flooring. A transition will need to be done at the entrance doors to adjust for the new elevation. Sand flooring then seal with a three-coat process consiting of one coat stain and two coats of top coat. |
