Description | The Project primarily consists of construction of sidewalks, driveway aprons, and minor storm drainage. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis as indicated in the Bid Form. Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond in the amount of five percent of the Bid. The successful Bidder will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds each in the amount of one hundred percent of the Contract Price. The successful Bidder shall comply with the requirements of Prevailing Wage Rate Laws in accordance with Section 31-51 of the Connecticut General Statutes. This contract is subject to state contract compliance requirements, including non-discrimination statutes and set-aside requirements. State law requires a minimum of twenty-five (25%) percent of the state funded portion of the contract be set aside for award to subcontractors holding current certification as Small Business Enterprises ("SBE") from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services ("DAS"). A minimum of 6.25% of the state-funded portion must be set aside for subcontractors holding current DAS certification as Minority-, Women-, and/or Disabled-owned businesses ("M/W/DisBE"). The contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% set-aside goals. The Town reserves the right to: reject any or all Bids; waive informalities or defects in Bids; make extensions to review Bids; and accept the Bid(s) that, in the Town's judgment, will be in its best interests.
