Installation of Underground Ducts Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, drawn on a solvent bank in the State of Nebraska, or a bid bond in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid of all contract construction costs, made payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Hastings, Nebraska, as security that the bidder to whom the contract may be awarded will enter into a contract to build all the improvements in accordance with this notice and give bond in the sum hereinafter provided for the construction of improvements. No bid shall be withdrawn after opening of bids without the consent of the City of Hastings, Nebraska, for a period of sixty (60) days after scheduled time of closing bids. Time is of the essence in this contract. In evaluating bid(s) received, the City will consider the timelines of completion of prior construction contracts, existing workload of bidders and available manpower that bidder commits to the project. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond in the sum of the full amount of the Contract within ten (10) days of the date of award. TR1.001 General. This section covers the general project description and scope of the construction work under these specifications and documents designated. Installation of underground duct for Feeders 281, 282, 284 and 285 in sheets 1-5 of Drawing Set E-UD-800. Most of this work is on Whelan Energy Center property; some of the work will be on Heartwell Renewables property. City Engineering will help with access to Heartwell Renewables property. The construction work under these specifications and documents will be incorporated in the Owner's distribution facilities expansion program, which includes the construction of distribution lines. TR1.002 Scope of Work. Material to be acquired at the Hastings Utilities Warehouse by Contractor and hauled to job site by Contractor. Note: Some or all materials may be delivered to jobsite by suppliers. Contractor to provide all labor, supervision, administration and management; and supply all construction equipment and services necessary to perform the duct installation complete in accordance with the specifications, drawings, and other contract documents. All construction to meet all applicable codes, especially NESC and RUS standards. All new materials required will be furnished by the owner.
