Description

Replace all existing fixed / operable window units (in the 1947 building, non-gymnasium spaces) with new aluminum thermally broken window assemblies. Operable units, on the ground floor, shall be in-swing hopper type while the upper level windows shall be single hung. Existing clear finished interior trim to remain as-is. Provide exterior placed metal screens at all operable window locations. Provide pre-finished steel (side hinge operable) rock guards at all ground floor windows. Additionally, all windows in occupiable areas shall be provided with roller window shades. Replace existing window units in the Gymnasium with new fixed translucent fiberglass sandwich panel assemblies. Replace all single leaf entry doors/frames with new fiberglass reinforced plastic doors (with aluminum skin facing) / pressed steel thermally-broken frame assemblies. Insulated glass vision lites will be provided at all door locations other than at mechanical and storage areas. Replace all paired entry doors/frames at building entrance locations with new fiberglass reinforced plastic doors (with aluminum skin facing) / pressed steel thermally-broken frame assemblies. Insulated glass vision lites will be provided at all door locations other than at mechanical and storage areas. Additionally, as appropriate, all new frames will be provided with insulated glass vision lites (to match existing lites). Provide new door hardware at all exterior door locations. Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 sect;44A-J & to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.l49 sect; sect;26 to 27H inclusive. General bidders must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) in the following category of work & ndash; General Building Construction and must submit a current DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility and signed DCAMM Prime Update Statement (Form CQ 3). General bids and sub-bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (considering all alternates), and made payable to the City of Springfield. Question Deadline 01/25/2023 at 4:00 PM ET No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
