Description The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (MDWASD) is soliciting competitive bids to construct a Bulk Sodium Hypochlorite Storage (BSHS) facility at the John E. Preston (Preston) Water Treatment Plant (WTP). The new facility will serve and meet both the Preston and Hialeah WTPs chlorine demands. Sodium hypochlorite will be stored in three lined concrete tanks located in Preston WTP and transferred to the Hialeah WTP via a redundant pipeline running through an existing concrete chase structure to existing day tanks as per needed basis. Sodium hypochlorite will be delivered via rail-car and tanker trucks to the BSHS facility with a storage capacity/duration of 14 days. The Specifications included in these Contract Documents establish the performance and quality requirements for material and equipment and the minimum standards for the construction and testing of the bulk sodium hypochlorite storage facility.
