Backflow Device Location Services

The City of Goodyear ("City") invites your firm to submit an offer in accordance with this scope of work for Cross Connection data collection. The successful Contractor shall provide all labor and equipment to locate specified devices in this solicitation. The purpose of this project is to locate all secondary backflows and associated water meters within the City's water service area. The City's Geographic Information System (GIS) will provide the data layers and areas boundaries to assist in the location and update of the required attributes as identified in data collection section of this scope. The Contractor shall use the City's GIS provided data to navigate to each backflow location for commercial, domestic, irrigation and fire protection backflows and capture the attributes listed below. The location and attribute information will be collected using the ESRI Field Mobility Application provided by the GIS Division (see GIS Provisions). Current City records indicate 586 backflows. Note that fire backflows will not have an accompanying water meter. Additional secondary backflows (approximately 1,000 +) will need to be collected in the field to augment the backflow GIS data layer. The initial term of this contract shall be from the date of award, with the option to renew for four (4) additional one-year periods, upon mutual written consent of the parties to the contract, not to exceed five (5) years. The City has no obligation to extend or renew this contract, and any decision to do so is at the sole discretion of the City.
