GCCARD Home Maintenance and Repair

Provide furnace or water heater inspections, tune-ups, repairs or replacement services for established unit prices to homes in Genesee County. Contractors will furnish all tools, labor, equipment, materials and permits required to perform the work. 1. Weatherization Program (WX): This program installs energy saving measures to income qualified residential homes. Most of this work is performed by GCCARD in house crews but at times will require special licensed professionals. Fund comes from the Department of Energy (DOE). 2. LIHEAP Emergency Water Heater Replacement: This program is only for those residents on the City of Flint water system. This is the only area that has been declared an emergency by the Governor and President. These program services are sent out to GCCARD qualified contractors. Funding is LIHEAP emergency funds come from the State of Michigan MDHHA. 3. Water and Plumbing Repair: This program provides water repairs to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 by ensuring low-income households have access to water for washing and disinfecting surfaces in the home. This work is done by qualified licensed plumbing contractors. Funding comes from the State of Michigan.
