DFM Coal, LLC S-4004-01 OSR Land Reclamation Project

The Contractor shall perform all operations necessary for: clearing and grubbing at the valley fill #3 site and burning the cleared and grubbed material to ash and removing all debris, trash, and garbage; construction, installation and maintenance of support areas and access roads to the site; rehabilitation and cleaning of sediment control channels, to also include outlet rip-rap in select areas; Regrading of valley fill face and transport of approximately 700,000 cyds of mis-placed Valley Fill 3 material into adjacent hollow. Removal of 2000 cyds sediments from Pond K; backfill of approximately 3600 LF (0.68 miles) of mining highwall, ranging from 56 to 150 feet in height, to include some blasting. Total highwall backfill of approximately 650,000 cyds; construction of valley fill groin ditches, drainage flumes and diversion ditches; erosion and sediment control with best management practices to include silt fence, rock check dams, sumps, and rocked outlet protection; revegetation of disturbed areas. The DFM Coal, LLC permit S-4004-01 project area is located in Mingo County, WV, approximately 4 miles due south from Rt. 44 intersection with US Rt. 52 at Mountain View. The project will involve but is not limited to the construction of mining highwall backfill (including blasting), valley fill regrade and access road, sediment structure cleaning, diversion channels and general site reclamation.
