Description | The objective of this project is for the contractor to provide all labor, new materials, and new equipment necessary to totally replace all parts and components of Elevators 1 - 6 and 9 within their respective existing elevator shafts at Moncrief Army Health Clinic, BLDG 4500, Ft Jackson SC. This includes all associated electrical components, controls/controllers, fixtures, door rollers, pickup rollers, door gibs, bearings on door operator linkages, governor systems and ropes, cabs and cab interiors, cab lighting, floor landing indicators, and hallway elevator panels, floor call controls in accordance with the most current versions of Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) 3-490-06 (Elevators); UFC 4-510-01 (Design: Military Medical Facilities); CFR 1917.116 - Elevators and escalators; ASME A17.1-2010, Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators / CSA B44-10, Safety Code for Elevators; applicable National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes, and all state or federal applicable laws and codes whichever is more stringent. Elevators 7, 8, and 10 are not part of this project. The existing, direct-current (DC) powered, traction geared elevators shall be totally replaced with an alternating current (AC) powered, traction gearless elevator system, to include all nonproprietary software and hardware (e.g. laptops) with updates. Total replacement includes any required upgrades to the existing electrical power system to make the transition from DC to AC usage for Elevators 1 - 6 and 9. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment and supervision necessary to safely complete the repair/renewal activities in accordance with the provisions of the base contract in accordance with all Federal, State, and Installation codes and laws to include preparation of a design as discussed below.
