Project improvements include: milling and resurfacing of existing roadway pavement, removing abandoned driveways, reconstructing curb and gutter, updating existing deficient pedestrian features such as sidewalks, pedestrian curb ramps, detectable warning surfaces, pedestrian detector assemblies, pedestrian crossing signs and plaques, upgrading/providing pedestrian control signals. Improvements also include signing and pavement markings, signalization, lighting; as well as bridge related scope items such as replacement of bridge deck expansion joints and provision of tapered-end transitions for bullet railings at bridge approaches. Coordination with Miami-Dade Transit Authority is expected for boarding and alighting areas, signs, and benches . Existing drainage system must be evaluated as some areas as susceptible to ponding.
