Description

Morehead Utility Plant Board (MUPB) (Owner) is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project, LEAD REMOVAL PROGRAM The Project includes the following Work: replacement of existing water mains, customer meter reconnections, flushing hydrants, gate valves and other appurtenances as shown on PLANS/SPECIFICATIONS. The Project has an expected duration of two hundred and forty (240) days The work to be completed consists of the installation of 23 connections from new water mains to existing water mains, approximately 6,000 linear feet of water mains (2" to 8"), 102-meter reconnections and other work for a complete installation of project Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial se ts of Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. BIDDERS MUST BE LISTED BY ISSUING OFFICE AS A PLAN HOLDER OR BID MAY BE DEEMED TO BE NON-RESPONSIVE. BIDDERS MUST SUBMIT ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION TO BE DEEMED A RESPONSIVE BID.Bidding Documents SHALL be purchased from the Issuing Office during the hours indicated above. Cost does not include shipping charges. Upon Issuing Office's receipt of payment, printed Bidding Documents or electronic documents will be available via download. The shipping charge amount will depend on the shipping method chosen. A pre-bid conference for the Project will not be held. For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents.Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Owner's office or Engineer's Office (222 East Main Street, Suite 1, Georgetown, Kentucky 40324) Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 am - 3:00 pm, local time The Contractor shall do all work and take all measures necessary to control soil erosion resulting from construction operations, shall prevent the flow of sediment from the construction site, and shall contain construction materials (including excavation and backfill) within his protected working area so as to prevent damage to adjacent property. B. The Contractor shall not employ any construction method that violates a rule, regulation, guideline or procedure established by Federal, State or local agencies having jurisdiction over the environmental effects of construction. The Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining all associated permits. C. Pollutants such as chemicals, fuels, lubricants, bitumen, raw sewage and other harmful waste shall not be discharged into or alongside of any body of water or into natural or man-made channels leading thereto. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing via email to mcurtis@bluegrassengineering.net and must be submitted to receive consideration seven days prior to the opening of bids. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda delivered to all parties recorded as having received the Bidding Documents
