Description

Bidders bidding on this project must be qualified under the provisions of the current South Carolina State Contractor's Licensing Laws. Bidders are advised that this contract will be funded in part by a federally funded grant which will be managed by the Spartanburg County Development Office. The award of a contract will not be announced until the owner and grant managers have the opportunity to review all the conditions affecting the award of a contract. That process may require up to 2 weeks. The Davis-Bacon and related acts will be in effect for this project and the contractor will be fully responsible to comply with all aspects of the Act(s) to include record keeping and compliance submittals. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond (or a certified check) in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount of Proposal. Make bond payable to Owner. This is required as a guarantee that the contractor to whom the work is awarded will execute a contract with Owner within ten (10) days after the notification that their bid is accepted, and deliver an executed Performance and Payment Bond, failing which the Bid Bond shall be considered liquidated damages. Cost will be a major factor in determining the selection of a contractor, But the owner Reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to award the contract in any manner the owner determines to be in the best interest of the owner and with the concent of the grant manager.
