Description

Plans call for the second state veteran’s home will consist of 128-skilled nursing beds, shared resident spaces and spaces to support veteran care. Refer to Section 3.0 Project Scope for a more detailed account of the project. A significant component of the Sykesville State Veterans Home is the emphasis on Infection Prevention and Control measures to mitigate the effects of infectious diseases, such as was experienced with Covid-19. Refer to Section 19.0 Infection Prevention and Control for additional information. As of March 2, 2023, the design teams have been selected and the project is in design. The anticipated Federal USDVA Grant receipt for five-year timeline for construction reimbursement starts the first quarter of 2023. The construction Document Issuance and Construction Award is scheduled on the third quarter of 2023, with Construction slated to begin fourth quarter of 2023. The completion timeline is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026; however, the firm timelines have not been established.
