Description

1. Apparatus Bay Floor Epoxy Coating (Lot I): Recommend a commercial grade, minimum two-coat floor epoxy product, color TBD. The epoxy system must consist of three parts: primer, epoxy, and “medium sprinkle” textured flakes as an anti-slip treatment. Medium sprinkle is defined as 2 – 3 lbs. of textured flakes per 250 sq. ft. The City’s intent is to have a smooth surface at the end of the project. The recommended product must have a nominal thickness sufficient to provide a smooth surface when cured with pigment throughout. 1. All products bid must be a performance grade industrial epoxy or department approved alternate product that are to be applied on concrete floors (like commercial garages and vehicle maintenance bays) that are regularly exposed to dropped tools, heavy machinery and heavy vehicle movement over the surface of the floor. 2. Companies will be responsible for properly preparing the surface according to the manufacturer’s instructions to promote good adhesion. This includes but is not limited to, cleaning and degreasing the surface; patching joints, cracks, chipped, and spalled areas and divots with materials approved by the product manufacturer; ensuring the surface is smooth; and applying a leveling compound as needed. 2. Interior Painting (Lot II): All interior walls, ceilings, doors and frames, handrails, as well as the Apparatus bay walls and doors will be painted. Companies will be responsible for properly preparing the surface. This includes but is not limited to repairing drywall; addressing dirt, grease, etc.; scraping and patching. Apparatus bay areas must be power washed prior to painting. Applying one coat of primer and one coat of paint. Color TBD.
