Description | The project consists of renovation of the existing 35,785 SF City Hall building. *Addendum 1, 2 and 3 have been released. *Scope notes have been posted for the project. This project consists of the renovation of the existing City Hall building. The City has re-located all occupants of the building for the duration of construction, and there will be limited phasing requirements. Phasing will primarily be centered around maintaining existing servers in the building for a period of time. The project consists of demolition and replacement of existing interior finishes and, mechanical, electrical systems and low voltage systems. Fire Protection and plumbing will be modified to new layout. Interior layout changes are required, as well as upgrades to all toilet rooms. Finishes are generally limited to carpet, VCT, vinyl base, painted gypsum board partitions and SAT ceiling tile and grid. Plastic Laminate millwork and gypsum board bulkheads at select locations. Ceramic Tile finishes in the toilet rooms. A higher end wall panel system will be limited to the front lobby and customer service areas. Facade replacements will occur in 7 bays of the existing building. Existing gypsum board furring on 4" cmu and face brick will be removed and replaced with a metal stud back up system and new face brick and pre-cast masonry. The existing facades were the lateral bracing system for the building and new reinforcement will be added to bring the lateral bracing of the building to meet current codes. The front entrance of the existing building will involve moderate construction with replacement of curtain walls and exterior masonry walls, and include new finishes on the interior. There are a total of seven bays of the building facade that will be replaced. All the existing windows (interior and exterior) will be replaced and/or modified as a part of this project. The existing council chambers will largely remain out of the scope of the project, beyond providing connections to mechanical and low voltage systems within the space. Project requires replacement of the elevator. The roof was replaced in 2020, as well as miscellaneous brick pointing and exterior sealant replacement on the exterior of the building. |
