Description | As of August 3, 2022, this project is in the conceptual phase. An engineer has not been selected. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, construction is not expected to start prior to June 2023. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: General Information Cape Fear Public Utility Authority (CFPUA) requests statements of qualifications (SOQ) from consulting engineering firms for the design and permitting for a new 16" water line interconnection. The new 16" water main will connect to the 30-inch line at Sweeney Water Treatment Plant to run parallel to Castle Hayne Rd. and connect to the 16-inch near Harnett Avenue on Castle Hayne of Castle Hayne Road. The project will consist of surveying, preparing plans, technical specifications and permitting. Construction based services by the Engineer may be awarded at a later date. Tasks performed may include but not limited to: o Design of 16" watermain o Traffic Control Plan design and Encroachment Agreement for NCDOT o All necessary permitting o Bidding Phase Services Description of Services The scope of work is expected to include the services described below. No guarantee is expressed or implied by the CFPUA that all services will be performed or that the selected consultant will perform all services associated with the project. The CFPUA may terminate work or pursue other consultant selections at any phase of the project. Services for construction phase support may be negotiated after final plans have been received and construction funding is approved. Overall objectives of this project are outlined below: 1. Gather and evaluate available information provided by CFPUA and perform preliminary field investigations as needed for design 2. Obtain survey, SUE information and provide easement maps. 3. Prepare detailed design and specifications for bidding 4. Obtain all necessary permits and encroachment agreements 5. Provide traffic control plan if required. 6. Provide bidding assistance, certified bid tabulation and letter of recommendation to award .
