Description | Goals for minority participation 19.5% Goals for female participation 6.9% The approximate extent and character of the Work is generally described as follows: Installation of approximately 4,202 linear feet of 6-inch ductile iron water main and related appurtenances. Also included in the project is the abandonment of 2,487 linear feet of 6" A/C water main and 1,235 linear feet of 2-inch galvanized water main. The project also includes sanitary sewer point repairs consisting of replacing 20 feet of 8-inch sanitary sewer main at 9 locations. The project will be finalized with milling and overlaying the streets within the project area. The quantity of milling and overlay area is 10,525 square yards. This is a Section 3 Covered Project under the HUD Act of 1968 and Section 3 Residents and Business Concerns are encouraged to apply. The last day for contractor questions is 5:00 PM, local time Friday, July 22, 2022. The time allowed for Substantial Completion is 180 days, and the time allowed for completion and readiness for final payment is 210 days from the date of commencement. Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond completed on the attached Bid Bond Form with good and sufficient surety or sureties approved by the owner for faithful acceptance of the contract, payable to, in favor of, and for the protection of the OWNER in an amount equivalent to five (5%) of the total amount payable by the terms of the contract, in lieu thereof, in the form of a certified check, cashiers check, or cash in equal amount. Performance and Payment Bonds, each in an amount at least equal to 110 percent of the contract amount, and a Certification of Insurance will be required. A Certification of Insurance will be required from the low bidder prior to award of the Contract. All Bids will remain subject to acceptance for ninety days after the day of the Bid opening, butOWNER may, in its sole discretion, release any Bid and return the Bid security prior to that date.
