Description | Project location: Southwest Dubois County School Corporation (Former Administration Building), 113 North Jackson Street, Huntingburg, Indiana 47542. The project generally consists of the demolition of existing building(s), structures, and utilities followed by backfill operations and site restoration. Contractor shall leave the site with final grading and turfgrass so that the site appears to have never been built upon. Construction shall be in full accord with the Bid Documents comprised of Project Manual and Drawings. Construction shall include the furnishing of all materials, equipment, and labor according to the Bid Documents as prepared by Jack R. Kinkel and Son Architects, for BUILDING DEMOLITION 2023, 113 NORTH JACKSON STREET, SOUTHWEST DUBOIS COUNTY SCHOOL CORPORATION. All proposals shall be made out and submitted on the Proposal Form included in Project Manual inside a sealed bid packet. Included in the bid packet shall be a current General Form No 96 portal State Form Description #52414), as prescribed by the State Board of Accounts. Any bid that exceeds a sum of $100,000.00 must be accompanied by a Contractor's Financial Statement attached to the General Form 96 as prescribed by the State Board of Accounts. One General Form No. 96 will be required from any one contractor for one or more bids. All proposals shall be firm without escalator clauses. Refer to Project Manual for other items required to be included in sealed bid packet. The proposal must be accompanied by a certified check made payable to the Southwest Dubois County School Corporation in an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid or an acceptable bidder's surety bond made payable to Southwest Dubois County School Corporation, in a SPECIFIC AMOUNT of not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid, executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Indiana. The certified check or bidder's bond shall be a guarantee that said bidder will, if the contract is awarded to him, execute within ten (10) days from the acceptance of his proposal a contract for the work bid upon, and furnish acceptable surety bonds as set forth in the specifications. However, if the contractor has not executed the contract within the ten (10) day period, or has failed to furnish acceptable surety bonds as indicated, the Board of School Trustees reserves the right to award the contract to the next higher or best bidder, and declare forfeiture of the defaulting bidder's bid security. All state, municipal and local licensing requirements must be met prior to submitting bid. Contractors shall hold Indiana Public Works Division Certification 1795.01 Demolition of Buildings and Other Structures or an. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening of bids. The Board of School Trustees of the Southwest Dubois County School Corporation reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any defects or informalities if deemed by it to be for the best interest of said Board.
