Hood Cleaning for School Cafeterias

A schedule for cleaning services will be developed between Roane County Schools and the successful vendor. Scheduling to be coordinated by contacting the Food Service Supervisor at (865) 376-8500. Cleaning shall be performed at the school Monday thru Friday between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., unless school is not in session on the days that cleaning is scheduled. Exceptions to this time frame must be approved on a case by case basis by Roane County Schools. All hoods, ducts, grills, fan housing, blades or impellers shall be cleaned. Fans must be protected during cleaning to avoid any damage to the unit. Any cleaning products used shall be non-flammable, non-toxic, and safe for use in a food service environment. All equipment under the hood and in the immediate area surrounding the hood must be covered and protected during cleaning. There shall be no standing water left inside or outside the system. Hood and surrounding area must be thoroughly cleaned leaving no grease, dirt, water or chemical residue after cleaning has been completed. The successful bidder agrees to be responsible for any damage caused by agents of the vendor. Each School Nutrition Program shall retain the right to recall the vendor to the site if the service does not meet specifications. Roane County will not be responsible for additional charges if vendor must return to the work site to complete the cleaning so meet specifications.
