Description | Synthesis of a sustainable biomass-based concrete sealer based on soy-based solvents, plastic wastes, and other potential biopolymers. Full performance evaluation of the concrete sealants including penetration depth, crack healing and pore blocking, and formulation modification for efficiency improvement. Improvement of durability-related physical properties of concrete including vapor transmission of absorbed water, permeability, shrinkage cracking, chloride ingress and diffusion based on laboratory and pilot studies. Design a procedure to evaluate the useful life of the sealant against common aging mechanisms in New England including cyclic freezing and thawing, deicing salt damage, scaling, and environmental factors. |
