Maintenance System Enhancement and Program Management Services

The Alameda County Public Works Agency (ACPWA) provides, maintains, operates, and preserves public infrastructure while promoting a healthy and sustainable environment that supports safe and livable communities. The ACPWA plans, designs, constructs, and maintains projects such as total streetscapes, roadway and traffic safety improvements, sidewalk improvements, pavement condition improvements, and traffic control systems improvements. Such projects serve incorporated areas of Alameda County as well as unincorporated areas, including Castro Valley, Sunol, San Lorenzo, Ashland, Cherryland, Fairview, and unincorporated parts of San Leandro, Hayward, and Livermore. ACPWA also administers the Alameda County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (District). The District helps protect Alameda County residents and properties from flooding while preserving the natural environment. The District plans, designs, constructs, and maintains flood control projects such as natural creeks, channels, levees, pump stations, dams, and reservoirs. ACPWA's Maintenance and Operations Department (M&O) performs ongoing maintenance of ACPWA and District facilities and infrastructure to ensure that they are functioning as intended. ACPWA currently uses a MaintStar asset and maintenance management system to help staff budget, plan, organize, track, and record its work.
